In the 50s and 60s of the 20th century, the "Zagreb" chess pieces were one of the most popular chess games that were used in the most important tournaments in the world, among others, in the Candidates Tournament that took place in 1959 , in three cities. belonging to Yugoslavia - Bled, Belgrade and Zagreb.

The queens and bishops have a contrasting colored ball on the top and the king a contrasting crown.

The knight is designed from a Russian knight , which has its head down, its mouth closed, a spectacularly carved head and a thin curved neck on its thick chest.

They are beautiful historical pieces. This game comes with two queens of each color.
